On this lo-fi recording, corn grains are sitting in a frying pan and begin to pop as the oil is hissing. It provides an interesting and regular popping sound suitable for mid-range frequencies. The recording is done with a tie-microphone, and extra treatment is done on audacity to reduce noise and isolate the sound.

Short clips of static, tones, and blips cropped down from raw binary data read as an audio stream. There's a little sequence marked as 'fanfare' that tends to pop up fairly often.

This is a very quick and dirty lo-fi recording of a very unsettling noise i am currently hearing outside of my 2nd story bedroom window. I have no clue what it could be. I have lived here for over a decade and never heard this sound. It's like wind, but it keeps fading in and disappearing again. When it starts, it sounding like very rapid, almost whistling, shallow breathing. I can't imagine what is making this sound, but it's pretty unnerving, and i'm too creeped out to open the curtains. I'm hoping someone can recognize this and tell me what this is because i'm starting to get very uncomfortable after about 10 minutes of hearing this on and off again. I am attempting to record it as it happens, so i've got several recorded instances of this if you want to hear more of it.

Two sennheiser g3 transmitters were set for the same frequency; one of them was transmitting a previous interference recording from my macbook p2 phone output, the other one had no input;the receptor was connected to loudspeakers; the interference would vary as i moved each transmitter around. I recorded the loudpeakers output through the macbook built-in microphone, on audacity. This is a specially noisy part i exported. Not a pretty sound, but may be useful.

I hope it sounds like weird signal. Alarm-like, it should represent stressful encounter of the unknown. Made with fl-studio 11 (3xosc and a bunch of effects).

This is (roughly) what in-train announcements in germany sound like! i recorded myself with an iphone 6, then added an eq- and a distort-effect in audition, to really capture the awful microphones used in the trains. Results from running randomly-generated neural networks (all weights in neuron connections start random and then slowly drift when generating). Although sample rates used are 44. 1 and 48 khz, sounds pretty lo-fi. The reason could be input compression needed for network to actually work. Each sound channel is an output from two separate neurons in the network. Each sample in this pack is generated by a separate network, as they wasn’t saved anywhere after they produce a thing. Global parameters (output compression, neuron count, drift rate etc. ) aren’t the same from sample to sample, too.

Very loud recording of an arcade i went to recently. Unfortunately wasn't alone so i had to cut it down quite a bit. It's in crusty mono quality because of my phone (moto g power) and its recorder app (ez voice recorder) but i suppose i can call it lo-fi if i wanted to. So i will!.

Found a half-broken wind-up rotating christmas tree music box. . . Thing. . . Raw 24/96 ms recording; be sure to decode before use. Left channel is mid, right is side. To do this manually you should separate the channels to two mono tracks, duplicate the side track and invert the duplicate. Pan the side tracks hard left and right, and mix with the mono mid channel. Or use a plugin to do it for you :d.
